What a weekend!
Funny as!
Not sure where to start really, I left work early friday cos the MR2 needed 2 new rear shoes! ;-)
ie: tyres!
So now the poor babe looks like he has got odd sox on ;-) Pirrelli PZero's on the back and Goodyear F1's on the front.
So I get to John's after having the new tyres fitted and he is getting the Supra ready for JAE (Japanse Auto Extravaganza) which we went to this weekend.
So he's cleaning the car and I'm looking at mine thinking.....I wanna take mine too!
Cinderella shall go to the ball! ;-)
Somehow after a few frantic phone calls we manage to wrangle a space on the Toyota owners club stand for Mister 2 :-) I need to say a big thanx to Tom from the mkiv Supra club for asking the guys at TOC and also the TOC guys for letting me park my MR2 on their stand :-)
(I will be joining your club in the near future!)
So anyway.... JAE was held at the East Of England show ground again this year which is up near Peterborough.
We left Southampton at 6am saturday morning and drove up via Oxford (to raid my car polishing box)
It pissed down on the way and looked pretty grim until we arrived at the showground when the weather decided it would turn to summer again and lull us all into a false sense of security ;-)
I wiped Mister2 down and made him look all sparkly, had to clean the bloody wheels AGAIN!
Sometime between 3 or 4pm the weather came across like it does in movies, the wind picked up in secounds and then the rain started belting down.
The tent next to ours had collapsed at this point, John was helping someone else tie their tent down when I went to check on our tent which was listing ;-) so there I am...pouring rain holding 2 guide ropes hoping that the tent wouldn't take off into blue yonder (which no kidding is what happened to one tent near by!)
After all this fun and games the storm settled down a bit and was steady rain for another hour or so at which point we did what all English people do in abject circumstanes...... we had tea ;-) Well really it was coffee cos we'd forgot the tea bags and we didn't have scones and jam it was super noodles cooked on the camp stove in the very wet porch of our tent. ;-)
At one point John was drying his trainers and T-shirt over the gas stove ;-)
The storm did bugger off after about 2 hours leaving a trail of devestation all around the showground, it was a bit like hurricane Rita's baby sister had stopped by!
After that we partied into the night, not sure what time we made it back to our tent, had the worst nights sleep I've ever had when camping, woke up sunday feeling rough as!
Another big Supra convoy arrived making a pretty impressive line up of cars, to be honest I was more intrested in what I could do to Mister2 next and I have a few idea's now from talking to a few ppls ;-)
Set off back home at about 3pm, went to the chippy on the way home to buy a big baked potato with chicken curry then went to a mates house and had a few beers.......had so many beers I had to leave the car there and pick it up this afternoon ;-)
All a bit shattered now so will just add a few (well alot actualy!) pix and then get some sleep!

Foster's was the only cold beer in the fridge at the time!

TOC before the storm ;-)

Looks like rain!

Sommartider Hej Hej! ;-)
Will post more pix tomorrow when I can be arsed!
