My Mate Marmite

Supper...... 2 slices of Marmite on toast and a beer Healthy! NOT! ;-)

This is what a Supra looks like with its guts hanging out....

Like a fool I've entered the new Fantasy Football League with ppls at work.

It would be funny if I knew that idiot child was picking his own team but he isn't, Daddy is!

Ahwell my team is called Spurs ReUnited and theres a definate Spurs theme going on, oh the excitement of my life!

I WANT A V6!!!

If I get a Toyota Camry V6 Engine I can have it shoe horned into my MR2 thus creating an MR2 mk2.5 ;-)
Finding ways to finance this when so far I've been paid for 2 days this month and I've already blown my wages out (Car Tax, MOT, usual bills etc) could be a bit tricky.

Efter Stormen!

What a weekend!

Funny as!

Not sure where to start really, I left work early friday cos the MR2 needed 2 new rear shoes! ;-)
ie: tyres!
So now the poor babe looks like he has got odd sox on ;-) Pirrelli PZero's on the back and Goodyear F1's on the front.

So I get to John's after having the new tyres fitted and he is getting the Supra ready for JAE (Japanse Auto Extravaganza) which we went to this weekend.
So he's cleaning the car and I'm looking at mine thinking.....I wanna take mine too!

Cinderella shall go to the ball! ;-)

Somehow after a few frantic phone calls we manage to wrangle a space on the Toyota owners club stand for Mister 2 :-) I need to say a big thanx to Tom from the mkiv Supra club for asking the guys at TOC and also the TOC guys for letting me park my MR2 on their stand :-)
(I will be joining your club in the near future!)

So anyway.... JAE was held at the East Of England show ground again this year which is up near Peterborough.

We left Southampton at 6am saturday morning and drove up via Oxford (to raid my car polishing box)
It pissed down on the way and looked pretty grim until we arrived at the showground when the weather decided it would turn to summer again and lull us all into a false sense of security ;-)
I wiped Mister2 down and made him look all sparkly, had to clean the bloody wheels AGAIN!

Sometime between 3 or 4pm the weather came across like it does in movies, the wind picked up in secounds and then the rain started belting down.
The tent next to ours had collapsed at this point, John was helping someone else tie their tent down when I went to check on our tent which was listing ;-) so there I am...pouring rain holding 2 guide ropes hoping that the tent wouldn't take off into blue yonder (which no kidding is what happened to one tent near by!)

After all this fun and games the storm settled down a bit and was steady rain for another hour or so at which point we did what all English people do in abject circumstanes...... we had tea ;-) Well really it was coffee cos we'd forgot the tea bags and we didn't have scones and jam it was super noodles cooked on the camp stove in the very wet porch of our tent. ;-)
At one point John was drying his trainers and T-shirt over the gas stove ;-)

The storm did bugger off after about 2 hours leaving a trail of devestation all around the showground, it was a bit like hurricane Rita's baby sister had stopped by!

After that we partied into the night, not sure what time we made it back to our tent, had the worst nights sleep I've ever had when camping, woke up sunday feeling rough as!

Another big Supra convoy arrived making a pretty impressive line up of cars, to be honest I was more intrested in what I could do to Mister2 next and I have a few idea's now from talking to a few ppls ;-)

Set off back home at about 3pm, went to the chippy on the way home to buy a big baked potato with chicken curry then went to a mates house and had a few beers.......had so many beers I had to leave the car there and pick it up this afternoon ;-)

All a bit shattered now so will just add a few (well alot actualy!) pix and then get some sleep!

Foster's was the only cold beer in the fridge at the time!

TOC before the storm ;-)

Looks like rain!

Sommartider Hej Hej! ;-)

Will post more pix tomorrow when I can be arsed!

Het Vind!

This weather would be amusing if I didn't have to go to work!

I set the aircon on its lowest temp yesterday which is 16c and put it on its highest fan setting and its still warm!

Moving on, I got the ball rolling on getting a new bike today :-)
There is a scheme going on at work that basicaly means you can go to a partcipating bike shop and choose a bike and then you pay for it out of your salary for the next 12 months and then pay a nominal fee at the end (2.5% of market value)
So I've got a quote on the bike I liked best and have filled in the relative forms, just gotta wait now for the voucher to come thru so I can go pick it up.

Choosen a hybrid ie: not a mountain bike (not so many mountains around here!) and not a racer.

Its a Trek 7.2 FX, I've gone for 17.5" frame as I'm a short arse! and also a ladies version not that I ever wear a skirt on my bike, but you just never know LOL

Once I get it I can finaly give my mum her bike back which I've been using for the past 2 years ;-)

Looking forward to the weekend, we're off to JAE, went last year in my car and parked it on the MR2 club stand but this year we're going in John's, taking the tent and camping saturday night.
You watch it piss with rain!
I shall take my camera for pics of MR2's oh and maybe some other cars but hey whats the point as everything else is ugly by comparison! ;-)

Have already sent an email to the guy from eBay who got me the last book early, he's gonna look out for it :-D

Lyric of the day:

Luften dallrar, allt står stilla
Vattnet som glimmar är bara en synvilla
Hundarna flämtar i den skugga som finns
Bilarna ryker, gatorna bränns

Det kommer en het vind, en het vind, het vind, en het vind
Het vind på väg in
Vinden viskar brinn brinn brinn

Vinden viskar brinn brinn brinn
Het vind på väg in

Luften dallrar, tiden går
Samma väntan som igår
Natten kommer lika het
Säj att du kommer ta min ensamhet

Det kommer en het vind.....

This summer weather has brought out the Roxette fan in me LOL

It's the time of year to break out the GT, Marie and Rox cd's.......well mp3's cos they're all on the PC otherwise I'd be changing cd's alla natten! ;-)

Knackerd!

Ok....my weekend.... yes its nearly wednesday I know but blogger was being an arse last night so couldn't post what I wanted to!

Looking knackerd before I even started!

The start line (bit of a giveaway as it says Start in big letters!)

The burst of speed at the end just for the camera!

"Where the fuck am I?"

So yea! That's Saturday in a nutshell.

Sunday was spent tinkering with and cleaning cars where I discovered I need 2 new back tyres before MOT, the current ones have done approx 12,000 miles and cost a fair bit cos I wanted decent ones.
Ordered some semi decent ones to replace them as the ones I wanted are now £100 each and not £80 like they were before.

Monday, had the day off work, didn't know why until we arrived at the entrance to Marwell Zoo!

Excellent entertainment, loved the penguins, giraffes are well.... strange! Zebra's all look like crossings.

Highlight of the day was seeing the cheetahs, leopards and tiger's my fav being Ivan he was just fantastic!

<--- What a babe!!! :-D

See more zoo pix here.

Got back to Oxford last night, played hockey we won 8-2 and I scored 4! ;-D all before half time, felt like a rest in the 2nd half.

So tonight it was back to hockey training, I feel pretty much beat up! legs bloody hurt, back aches, ankle aches........ dunno why I play LOL!!

Breaking The Pain Barrier

Day 8:

Did a mile and a bit mostly cos bloody head phones kept falling out of my ear whilst I ran and cos my lace came undone about half way round .

Day 9:

Last training day, just done the block mile in 8mins 31secounds!!
Won't do a run tomorrow, mainly cos I won't have time anyway but also don't wanna burn myself out for the big run on saturday ;-)

I'm only 4mins 31secounds behind Roger Banister! and about 5 mins behind the current world record which is 3.30 something I think.

For anyone watching Sport Relief on TV, I'm doing the Southampton run at about 12.30ish and my runner number is D4302542 ;-)

All this running, hopefuly I'll be fit for hockey training which starts next week, gonna atleast try and get myself back into it cos I missed it alot when I didn't play (although I didn't miss the training on a Tuesday night in the rain!)
Just took all the old crappy tape off my stick and put some new stuff on although I think if I'm gonna go back properly this season (leg staying injury free permitting) I might splash out on a new stick as this one has lost its 'ping' ;-) if you're a hockey player you'll know what I mean if ure not then you'll just think I'm mad!

Also started to take a Gloucasamine supplement again to help the old joints, my right ankle has been killing lately and I think its mainly cos I stopped taking the joint tablets ages ago.
Was in the local health food shop yesterday and found the same supplement in liquid form so gonna try that as I'm convinced the tablets were actualy working, tis all naturaly occuring stuff, think its made from fish something or other ;-) don't really wanna know where it comes from I just know that it helps!

Got a physio session for tomorrow morning just to make sure the hamstring muscle is ok, hopefuly should be the last one for a while, theres still the slightest twinge there although I'm not sure if I'm thinking I'm feeling it or if there is still something there.
Where I hurt it is in the hardest place to get at, I pulled it right at the top where it attaches to the bone and the it didn't heal properly and left loads of scar tissue which is bloody painful cos it doesn't stretch as far as normal muscle tissue

Ignore the red sploge on this pic, I injured the bit circled in yellow, you wouldn't believe how hard it is for the physio to get at it and f*** does it hurt cos its right on the bone!
Its also the biggest bastard of a muscle to stretch, not matter how much you try u just can't stretch that bit!
I've developed some right weirdo positions to try and stretch it! ;-)
(Ure looking at the legs from the back)

So there you have it, an anatomy lesson aswell as reading a blog, exciting stuff!

Off to get a nice carbohydrate drink now....... ie: beer ;-)

Tomorrow night it will be pasta for tea for energy!

Another Day, Another Mile

Day 6:

Did the block route in 9mins 12secs, had to stop and tie a shoelace half way round otherwise it would've been less.

Day 7:

Back at home this evening after being at my dads for the last few days.

Had to get AutoRoute out to plan a mile's practice run ;-)

Couldn't be arsed to time it.

Word of advice..... Don't go running a mile after you've eaten a big pasta dinner!!!

Feel a bit sick now!

Finaly got Marie Fredriksson's new album, its pretty good although I've no idea what shes on about cos its all in Swedish.

Booze Is The Answer, What Was the Question?

Day 5:

Hungover!

Managed to run the block in 9 mins 29 secounds after taking nearly all day to recover from the bottle of wine I shouldn't have had last night!

Off to watch the World Cup Final now and hope my players I've picked take me to victory in the works fantasy league!

Still Going.......Sort Of ;-)

Day 3:

Beer and BBQ >;-)

Day 4:

Been out for another run round the block in my new trainers, had to give them the road test before next week.

Off out bowling later.....does that count towards training? suppose it depends on how many beers I consume whilst doing it ;-)

Day Two....

Alright this is scary!

Thats 2 nights in a row that I've been out for a run!

Not quite a mile this evening, the route I took, and will have to take for next few days cos I'm house sitting for my dad is 0.95 of a mile, maybe if I ran up the road and doubled back on myself that would bring the mile up ;-)

If I carry on like this for another 24 days I'll have run a whole marathon ;-)

Now I need a beer! as thats a vital training requirement.

1,609.344 Meters

Training Blog Day 1:

1 mile = 1,609.344 Meters

ie: 4 and a bit times round a 400 meter running track

Went out down to the local school field which has a running track painted on it, easier for me to judge the distance ;-)

Did a bit of a warm up ie: jogged a bit and did some stretches cos didn't want the hockey injury to rear its ugly head.

Then set out to do my pratice mile timed by the stopwatch on my moblie (knew that would come in handy for something!)

10mins 51 Secounds to do 4 and 1/4 laps!! I was quite impressed with myself! wasn't even going overly fast.
I reckon I could manage it under 10mins by the time the big day comes round :-)

Now cos blogger was being slower than a snail over hot sand last night I've had to post this edition this monring!

We've had a thunder storm go on here from about 3am this morning and its still rumbling on!
Training diary might be a bit interrupted cos I'm house/dog sitting for my dad from tonight til Monday night although he has just had broadband installed so should be able to get on the net :-)

So anyway, the cat came in with another small rodent last night, pretty sure it was a mouse but she left with it in her gob when I asked her to share it with me ;-) I hope the poor thing didn't suffer :-(

Bloody psycho killer!

Lyric Of The Day: an ode to Tricky Vee!

I cant seem to face up to the facts
Im tense and nervous and i
Cant relax
I cant sleep cause my beds on fire
Dont touch me Im a real live wire

Psycho killer
Quest que cest
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho killer
Quest que cest
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

You start a conversation you cant even finish it.
Youre talkin a lot, but youre not sayin anything.
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed.
Say something once, why say it again?

Running A Mile

Sitting infront of the PC looking at the BBC website

Saw the Sport Relief page and thought.....I'll run a mile LOL

If I can't run a mile for charity then its time to give up hockey completely!

So mentioned that I was doing the mile to my uncle and he says he'd sponsor me £5 if I run it under 10 mins (possible) or £10 if I run it under 8 mins! (impossible) ;-)

Anyone that fancies sponsoring me please go HERE!

I'm gonna have a training diary on my blog but seeing as its a week and a half away what training can I do appart from practice miles? ;-)

Atleast this gives me motivation to get fit!

On another note...... bloody cat! she brought in a bat! last night......how did she catch it? god only knows but we had to take it off of her, poor thing had already expired :-(

Best get a move on to work as its just started to thunder in the distance and its looking pretty ominous!

The Future's Bright The Future's Orange

So I got me my Sony Ericsson W810i

Have had to cancel my contract with O2 cos they didn't want me to have the phone I wanted so I went and spoke to a very nice man in the Orange shop and even though I'm paying £5 more a month I get a lot more for it including the phone I wanted.

For £25 I get free insurance, 200 minutes & 1000 texts, a Sony Ericsson W810i and cos we found an old phone to exchange I also get 4 months free line rental ie: £100 credit on my bill
O2 weren't offereing me anywhere near that so I've ditched them, they also didn't seem to be that gutted about losing me as a customer.

Will be sending out my new number to those who want it as soon as I'm sure everything has been activated and sorted out, could've took my O2 number with me but really couldn't be arsed and atleast I can use up some of my 1000 or so free texts ;-)

So anyway, loving this summer weather during the day but its actualy pretty unbearable at night, I saw every hour last night partly cos it was boiling but also cos the cats wanted in at ridiculous times!

Works world cup fantasy football league is coming towards its end and I still have plenty of players that are still in the world cup as well as 2 transfers left to use.

He who has the most toys in their toy box at the end of playtime wins ;-)

Got another day off tomorrow, going to watch the cricket again, best not have so much beer this time as I've gotta go back into work on wednesday........ BUGGER!

Bugger & Bollox!

So there goes another world cup! by the time the next one comes round I'll be 34!

Watched the game up until extra time , buggered off to get some food at Tesco but we were back too early and so I watched the pitiful penalties, no one looked like scoring but then we never do.

Anyway, dunno if my flag at home has been taken down ;-) I did text my bro to tell him.

COME ON GERMANY!!!

Now the most important thing is to stay ahead of the bosses son in works fantasy world cup league but having spent one of my last 5 transfers on Wayne ManUtd Wanker Rooney (hope you get vilified like Becks did in '98!) I've only got 3 transfers left, but thats ok cos everyone else has done theirs and I still have my mate Miroslav Klose the Polish man playing for Germany ;-)

I did have a bit of a chuckle though cos Argentina got as far as we did which is just bloody hysterical!

*waits for flames from Argentinians*

COME ON GERMANY!

And so to beer!
