Is This The World We Created?

Here I am about to reach the grand old age of 31!

What more can I say ;-)

For the big day tomorrow I'm going to play hockey, then do a bit of shopping then off out for a curry and a few beers or whatever drink takes my fancy really.
After last weekend I think I'll give Champagne a miss as it really doesn't like me, I can't cope with the 3 day hangover's anymore, not at my age!

Anyway....

I'm starting a "Vixzter's greatest albums that you must get" section on this blog:

First up is:

The Works by Queen

I've loved this album for ever! I think it's probably one of my earliest forrays into the big world of popular music.

Queen are pure class!

Lyric Of The Moment:

For we who grew up tall and proud
In the shadow of the Mushroom Cloud
Convinced our voices can't be heard
We just wanna scream it louder and louder

Queen - Hammer To Fall

In the madness of the last week or so I've neglected my next Star Wars book countdown.

So.....

It's only 59 days til:

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!! Part Deux

So there it is in black and white ( well actualy multi colours but you know what I mean)

I will be making yet another Vixzter film of the photo's when I feel up to it but right now I'm feeling as rough as a dogs arse ;-)

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!

Lyric Of The Season:

We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting til the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions....

Queen - "We Are The Champions"

So! Yes! we won! ;-)

I feel very poorly this morning.

Pictures will be posted when I feel better, when that will be I have no idea!

Positive Thinking

The hours before the game and the night out after.

2pm push back <--- that's the hockey term for kick off ;-)

We're the last game of the day in the league, although the other game that matters starts at 1.30pm

If I'm still in the land of living tomorrow (unlikely!) I will post our result and possibly pictures.....thats if I can remember how to use my camera as there is the very high possibility of vast amounts of alcohol being consumed this evening.

So this is it, at around 3.30pm we will either be flying up there among the clouds of happiness or completely shattered!

Lyric Of The Day:

We're gonna win
Forget about a draw, we're gonna score
And then were gonna get a few more
Maybe another to be sure

Bryan Adams - "We're Gonna Win"

One more game to put my broken, old, worn out body on the line!!!!!

Time Of Your Life

Lyric Of The Day:

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right
I hope you had the time of your life

Green Day - "Good Ridance (Time Of Your Life)"

Now I have to admit I'm suffering from a little pre-match nerves right now, its been like this for the last 4 or 5 games.

Now it's only Friday night and I'm trying my hardest to relax, ie: beer and pizza ;-) but this is the biggest game in a long time and I'm feeling all a bit sick LOL (time for more beer!)

It's got so bad that I've started getting my kit ready so that I don't forget anything important in the morning.

*Opens another beer*

On another note, there was a fire festival in town last week, its all part of Oxfordshire's 1000th's birthday celebrations, well any exscuse for a party I guesse.
Me and Will took a trip into town to check it out and came back smelling of bonfires!

**^^Random Fire Festival Picture Moment Warning^^**

After all that.........

It's 66 Days til:

To keep me entertained I'm reading some of the best FanFic ever written that I found somewhere on TheForce.net fanfic forum.

So My Clothes Are All Counterfeit

Lyric Of The Day:

Too much time spent dragging the past up
I didn't see you not looking when I messed up

Kaiser Chiefs - Oh My God

Been on another Primark raid and have found some suitable accessories for the 'lucky dip' on Saturday night.

A suitably hideous hat and scalf, some lucky sod is going to have to wear that all of Saturday night.
The rules are that you are to spend no more than £3 on accessories, well these billy bargains came in at £1.50 each.

Pure class!!!

So anyway, here's a pic of the skirt and leggings as promised in previous posts:

Can you see where this evening might be leading to? ;-)

I've heard a rumour that the tops we're gonna have to wear clash horribly with everything.

Finaly......

Its 68 Days til:

Getting Silly!

Ok, so its hockey fines night out on Saturday and we've all got outfits to wear. (I will take a picture of the skirt and leggings at some point)

Apparently tops have been brought and they are suitably hideous.

All I have to do now is find a really really awful accessory and wrap it up, whoever opens it has to wear it all night.

I feel another trip to Primark coming on!!

Songs Of The Day:

My Chemical Romance - I Don't Love You
Maximo Park - Our Velocity

One Step Closer

Rover Oxford 1-0 Epsom

So it's one step closer to the league title!

Last game means everything, we have to win to be sure of the title.

It's tense stuff!!!!

So this saturday coming see's our hockey fines night regardless of wether we win the title or not, we'll either be totaly over the moon or drowning our sorrows in a vat of some alcoholic beverage or other.

The attire for the evening is some recently acquired royal blue ex England hockey skirts, black leggings, shoes of your own choice and some hideous (i expect but I haven't seen them yet) tops.
I've chosen to wear my great big boots as I think that will have a look of class about it with the leggings and the skirt ;-) (I'll post a pic of the skirt and leggings when I have a minute to spare)

Needless to say we're off into town to hit Pizza Express and then wherever the night takes us, could end up pretty messy!

Take no notice of the fact that the goal in this picture is on the piss ;-)

Anyway I'm off to sulk now cos Spurs just lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup :-( *sniff*

Bugger and bollocks!

I can hear the phone ringing now, I think its George Lucas on the phone! ;-)

Lyric Of The Moment:

Let the dream begin
Let your darker side give in
to the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night.

Music Of The Night from Phantom Of The Opera

Angel Of Music

I've made a new film

Past The Point Of No Return

****Picture Special Blog****

Lyric Of The Moment:

I gave you my music....
made your song take wing...

and now, how you've repaid me....

Denied me
and betrayed me...

He was bound to love you
when he heard you sing....

Phantom Of The Opera - All I Ask Of You (Reprise)

So yea........ guesse where I went yesterday!

We started off by walking around London for a bit, sampling the local drinking establishments and taking in a few sites.....

China Town:

Trafalgar Square:

Her Majesty's Theatre:

Past the point of no return:

Checkin' in checkin' out.....

Not bad photo's for a mobile phone!

So anyway, Phantom was fantastic!

I got a magic mug! It changes colour when you put a hot drink in it.

It's All In The Name

Cheltenham Festival starts today.

Appart from the grand National its the only time I will have a bet or 2.

So far I've picked Wee Robbie in honour of Robbie Keane who plays for Spurs, the next 2 have a distinctly Star Wars theme...... Imperial Commander and Flying Falcon.

No idea what races they're running in LOL, I just liked the names!

When I get to work I will ask the boss for some tips cos he knows what he's doing ;-)

Living For The Weekend

Lyric of the moment:

Working all the time
Work is a such a bind
Got some money to spend
Living for the weekend
When it gets too much
I live for the rush
Got some money to spend
Living for the weekend

Hard-Fi - Living For The Weekend

So yea..... the weekend.

Played in goal yesterday!!!

We won 5-3 after being 3-1 down at half time, I was a bit disapointed about the first goal I let in but the other 2 I couldn't do much about but we won in the end so all is well :-)

Still top of the league!

2 more games to go.

COME ON!!

It would appear I'm going on a cruise at the end of May, watch this space for more details as and when I have them! ;-)

Love Is Not A Competition (But I'm Winning)

Lyric of the day:

I remember nights out when we were young
They weren't very good they were rubbish
Running round Highroyds isn't fun
Just teenagers testing their courage

Hanging outside nightclubs in the snow
Not very cool or impressive
They let in all the girls from the year below
No need for ID's with those dresses

Kaiser Chiefs - Highroyds

Thats Oxford on a Saturday night! except there wouldn't be snow just rain LOL.

Anyway was out last night, I was the only one not drinking, its amazing how unfunny pubs are when you're the only one sober.

Today is hockey, a must win game that I'm trying to get myself fired up for.

Getting into the zone as they say ;-)

I Don't Care If You Don't Care

Well ...... book is finished.

Feel a bit anti climatic now, it wasn't what I expected.

Alema Rar still lives!! it's a pity cos she nearly copped it at one point.

Han & Leia Solo are still alive but who knows what might happen next.

Luke & Mara Skywalker haven't copped it either, so who's gonna be bumped off is anyones guess.

Jaina Solo had very little page time!! :-( although Jag Fel is back so it's good to see him and Zekk fighting over her even though they claim they're not ;-)

Ben Skywalker needs to stop being deluded by Jacen Solo who is still a complete knob and I wish someone would do him in too!
But seeing as he's being made up to be the big villian then I already know he lives atleast for a few books more ;-)

And all thru this bloody Lumiya still lives, well I guess she has to cos she's the one keeping the whole plot on course.

I do fear for the Solo's survival, all 4 of them! even Jacen, he's practically had it anyway, hopefully someone will kick his arse soon cos he needs a good kicking.

So there you have it a very un-constructive review of a book you'll never read! ;-)

Bring on 'Sacrifice' although I have a sense of foreboding about it cos I think one of my fav characters is going down in that one.

Yours Truly, Angry Mob

Album of the moment:

Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly, Angry Mob

Lyric of the moment:

We are the angry mob
We read the papers everyday

We like who we like

We hate who we hate

But we're also easily swayed

Kaiser Chiefs - The Angry Mob

So anyway its been a strange week, I've been bloody knackered for most of it!

Yesterday evening to top it all I ballsed up big time.

Went to hockey training, there was no parking anywhere as there was football on the pitch before us so I thought I'll park on the grass verge in the main drive leading towards the pitch, other people were parked there and there was a nice MR2 space just about rig
ht for my little car

Only thing was I parked too far onto the verge, and got stuck well and truly cos of the mud on there which I obviously hadn't seen cos it was dark at the time!

So after training my hockey mates helped me push the poor bloody car off of the verge and back onto the road, I am the biggest knob in the galaxy and also I did say if they could help get me out I would put £20 into the fines tin at the weekend.

So there we have it, one very muddy car (although I've since washed it!) and £20 lighter, its a good job its pay day!!

After all that fun and games I read a few more pages of my book whilst applying ice to my knackered knee and shin.

Got physio tomorrow so hopefuly he can fix all my aches and pains again.

The book is proving hard work in these last few pages :-(

Off out now to see if the car is ok after its little off road expedition.

Soon there will be a countdown to this:
